“Mum we are not being nasty, but you do have a problem” my kids kept saying, and I just kept brushing it off. After everything I have been through in the past few years; a car crash, my eyesight failing, losing my mother, dealing with all my spinal damage and nerve damage, and suffering in pain 24/7, I just didn’t want to hear that I had something else wrong. I couldn’t bear the thought of dealing with any more problems.
But I started to notice things like my speech and not hearing things right, so I dropped into a Bay Audio store. I would have hated not being able to hear my granddaughter talking and laughing, or my kids or even not hearing my daughter’s vows when she gets married next year.
I cannot believe what I have been missing out on and to be honest, when I got home, I broke down and cried my heart out because if I had listened to my kids earlier I wouldn’t have missed out on so much.
Bay Audio’s help and understanding gave me back my hearing properly again. I’m so over the moon knowing I will now be able to hear properly with no more complaints from my kids.
As I left bay audio after my fitting, I heard a strange rustling sound. After several seconds, I realized it was the sound of the wind blowing, something so simple made me smile! After years of living with a loss, I can now hear the voices of people from other rooms and don’t have to see their lips moving to understand what they are saying. My energy levels have gone up after l started wearing my hearing devices.
I never realised that living with a hearing loss could be so exhausting! My hearing loss affected a lot of people around me, even though I didn’t realise it or want to admit it. My confidence has improved so much since wearing my devices. I can finally go into a restaurant or work meeting and hear what the speaker is saying. Now I can hear conversations, whispers, and other everyday sounds that I had been missing out on, thank you for improving my life.
Before my fitting, I had missed out on so much and been too ashamed to ask people to repeat themselves, and it made me withdraw from people and conversations. I’d never had hearing devices before. Once I had my hearing aids fitted, I was so pleased to be able to hear perfectly after 25 years of missing so many sounds!
