FAQs

Hearing aid prices can put many people off. It’s tempting to think “I just can’t afford it, I’ll put up with my hearing loss for now.” It doesn’t have to be that way because in many instances, the Government’s hearing aid entitlements or your health insurance will provide you with hearing aid funding.

Hearing device rebates for private customers

  • Customers purchasing hearing devices privately may be eligible for private health insurance and tax rebates.
  • Private health insurance generally covers customers with a reasonably high level of Extras Health Insurance.
  • A 20% tax rebate is available for medical expenses over $1500 incurred during the financial year. This includes hearing devices.
  • Bay Audio clinicians will explore a customer’s funding options to ensure that they can access the best technology to suit their needs with the least possible out-of-pocket expenses.
