Bay Audio – a great place to work
At Bay Audio, we strive to be Australia’s audiology employer of choice, but how do we deliver on this?
We offer competitive packages and commission opportunities, a network of stores throughout Queensland and New South Wales, and ongoing training and development. But don't just take our word for it. Check out these testimonials from Bay Audio employees:

Ryan Allen, Bay Audiologist

After finishing high school, like most teenagers, I was undecided about what my future career would involve. I loved sport and physical activity, so I enrolled in a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement Studies and Education. It quickly became apparent to me that I didn’t want to teach secondary school kids and Human Movements didn’t provide me with any great career opportunities.   Part way through my undergraduate degree I began looking into my post graduate options. Audiology was an option that was very appealing as it offered long term job satisfaction and career advancement. It also provided the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, and assist them in achieving a better quality of life through improving their ability to communicate.

After completing my Masters of Audiology at University of Queensland, I began working in a private clinic on the Gold Coast. I spent a little over 12 months on the Gold Coast and after obtaining my clinical certificate, I jumped at the opportunity to move to New Zealand to work for Bay Audiology the founding company of Bay Audio. My first placement in NZ was in the coastal town of Tauranga, 3 hours south of Auckland. Tauranga was a beautiful place to work and offered the best of both worlds, with pristine beaches at your doorstep and a number of excellent ski fields only 3 hours drive to the south. Needless to say I enjoyed my time in this popular tourist town. After 18 months in Tauranga I moved to Auckland and spent just over 6 months working in a number of clinics around Auckland. Whilst I was based in Tauranga and Auckland, I was also provided with the opportunity to do a huge amount of travel as I took on the role of Bay’s roving Audiologist. Bay Audiology has clinics in most towns in New Zealand and I was fortunate enough to visit almost all of them. I really enjoyed my time in New Zealand and know that it helped me grow on a professional and personal level because I was exposed to such a wide variety of experiences.

After 2 years traveling New Zealand, I was ready to move back to Australia for somewhat of a more structured lifestyle. On my return to Australia I have been working in a number of Bay’s new retail sites on the Gold Coast and in Northern NSW. Bay is a very progressive company that is focused on revolutionizing the way consumers view and access hearing services. The company is owned and run by Audiologists who not only understand what the clients and staff require but also what is required to run a successful business. Bay Audio is in its infancy in Australia and is a very exciting company to be involved with. I can comprehensively recommend Bay as an excellent employer for anyone looking for an exciting change of pace, with great career opportunities.

Cherie Lee, Customer Service Officer

After 22 years of running my own interior decorating business, I yearned for a new career. Not sure of what I wanted to do, I accepted a friend’s offer to help out at a small but busy medical centre for a few months while I made up my mind.

Eight years later, as practice manager and having completed many medical related courses including phlebotomy (the taking of bloods), I decided I had done all I could do in this field of work and it was time to move on once more.

I spent the next two years working in a very busy Hearing Diagnostic/ Cochlear Implant Centre located at one of Brisbane’s private hospitals in the city. I soon realised how much I liked working in this industry, and wanted to learn more.

Preferring to work in the suburbs I accepted a job with a newly established hearing company called Bay Audio. My first impressions were of a modern, forward thinking, innovative company.

Shortly after starting with Bay Audio I was encouraged by my peers to do a Diploma in Audiometry. The course is run through a TAFE in Sydney called OTEN, and is done via correspondence. You study at your own pace and should complete the course in two years, however if you manage your time well it can be done in twelve months. I enrolled with OTEN about six months ago. It’s great that my full time job as a Customer Service Officer with Bay Audio can be integrated with my studies. As you progress through the course you graduate to more hands on Audiometry work, which is a great way to gravitate into a new career.

I find working in this industry interesting because every customer has individual needs and it’s a very satisfying outcome to be able to help people regain their hearing independence so they can reconnect and communicate with family and friends once more.

At Bay Audio we are constantly upgrading and improving our skills so that our clients get the best service and technology there is to offer. Bay Audio has opened the doors of opportunity for me and others like me. I am now on my way to a new career with a fast growing, innovative company. Our retail stores are fresh and modern and I really enjoy the level of customer interaction that I get when working in a retail location.

I love my job and look forward to a long and satisfying career working with Bay Audio.
